The School Board shall establish a School Advisory Council in each District school to serve in an advisory capacity to the school principal and to assist in the development of the educational program and in the preparation and evaluation of the school improvement plan required pursuant to Section 230.23(18), Florida Statutes. School advisory councils shall not assume any of the powers or duties now reserved by Florida Statutes for the School Board or its administrative or instructional staff.

Education Support Employee - The term "Education Support Employee" means any person employed by a school who is not defined as instructional or administrative personnel pursuant to s.228.041 and whose duties require 20 or more hours in each normal working week. Student - The term "student" means a student at this school. Parent - The term "parent" means a parent of a student at this school. Business/Community Representative - Those interested citizens who are not members of the previous peer groups.
