Academy of Digital Video Technologies

Along with television, social media has made video production a powerful tool in the communications field. Professionals in this industry will have to possess the creative and technical skills necessary to produce videos that tell a compelling story and captivate audiences.

 The Academy of Digital Video Technologies at Wesley Chapel High School teaches students practical skills in recording and editing videos. This certification introduces students to the primary feature set and basic interface of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop. Certification knowledge areas include basic setup, adjusting and customizing preferences and settings, capturing video and audio, various editing and trimming techniques, ripple, roll, slip and slide tools, audio editing and audio creation, finishing, and final output.

 

 

Academy of Agritechnology

Technology has had a profound impact on agriculture, making it possible to make insect-resistant crops and grow crops in our arid deserts. To continue this progressive trend of farming, the agriculture industry will need engineers and scientists who can continue to develop creative ways of meeting the demands of a growing population.

 The Academy of Agritechnology at Wesley Chapel High School offers a sequence of courses that provide coherent, rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards. Students will gain the technical knowledge and skills necessary to prepare for further education and careers in the agriculture, food and natural resources fields. The competency-based approach of this academy also contributes to higher-order reasoning and problem-solving skills, a strong work ethic, and general employability skills.

 

 

Academy of Automotive Service Technology

With more drivers on our roadways, there is a greater demand for certified mechanics. Professionals in the automotive industry must possess expert mechanical and diagnostic skills to provide the services that ensure our vehicles keep moving forward.

 The Academy of Automotive Technology at Wesley Chapel High School combines technical, academic and workplace skills in an integrated curriculum in accordance with all National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation, Inc. (NATEF) guidelines. This academy prepares students for further education and careers in automotive technology and consists of four required areas of study for program certification: suspension and steering, brakes, electrical/electronic systems, and engine performance. Each area provides the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to pass the ASE end-of-course assessments and immediately enter a career in this area and/or attend postsecondary education and/or training.
